Super Mario Bros 2 based on the Mario series was developed for the NES, and it was released in 1988 entitled Super Mario Bros 2: The Lost Levels, which offered rather different aspects from its previous creation. The locations for this adventure are seven levels, united by a similar theme but having a completely different terrain: from plains with grass and deserts to mountains covered with ice and even caves in the dark. The latter involves moving the players through these areas, solving various puzzles, and successfully passing the more specific and difficult platforming sequences. To begin with, why it looks and feels so different to a more traditional Mario game is because it was originally released in Japan as Super Mario Bros.: Doki Doki Panic, which is why it looks and plays as it does.
