Pokemon Conquest ROM is a curious kind of turn-based RPG in which Pokémon coexist with feudal Japanese surroundings. Based on the fictional region of Ransei, the game revolves around a young warlord and their Eevee and sets for the goal to take over the 17 kingdoms of the region.
As seen in this fig. 2, each kingdom is controlled by different warlords who have affiliated Pokémon, and players have to attempt to defeat these kingdoms through carefully choreographed turn-based battles. Pokemon Conquest is not like the usual Pokémon games, as there is a focus on turns, maps, and Pokémon skills for turning the opponent’s Pokémon around in a square-based battle.
The plot unfolds through battles, diplomacy, and the growing of players’ spheres of influence on the map and involving other Warlords. Legendary Pokémon also feature in the game, and some of them can be recruited on the player side. Primarily, Pokemon Conquest’s play includes many staking storylines, and there is content after the completion of main quests and missions, making players fight as different characters.
