PlayStation 4 (PS4) Console
The Sony’s PlayStation 4, also known as PS4, launched in November 2013 is not just a new generation home video game console, but its introduction revolutionized the gaming industry in terms of its performance, integration with social networks, and multi-media features. The PlayStation 4 was the fourth console developed by Sony, respectively, after the PS3, which had a rather ambiguous attitude from fans and the designers’ intent to restore Sony’s hegemony in the video game industry.
In its design and basic architecture for its new hardware system, the PS4 was the template of what the eighth generation of console gaming would be: sleek, sharp edges and packed with favorite features of players and game developers alike.
One of the largest enhancements in the PlayStation 4 was its x86-64 AMD “Jaguar” CPU and AMD Radeon GPU, which allowed it to provide real-time graphics of games at the desired HD of 1080p and, at times, 4K resolution. It eventually provided developers with the hardware advancements for greatly developing open-world games, visuals, and control feel that made them more immersive than ever before.
While the earlier releases, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodbone, and Uncharted 4, best depicted the PS4 with regard to entailing finer details in environments, realistic characters, and smooth gameplay. The console also came with 8GB of GDDR5 RAM for increased multitasking, which made game developers create complex games due to the advanced narrative techniques that were used.
The PlayStation 4 was not just about the horsepower; it also placed a lot of attention on the player. A very noticeable feature of the DualShock 4 controller was the Share button, which could in a jiffy take screenshots and videos and broadcast live streams on Twitch and YouTube. This was sensational as it offered a place to take these gaming moments and share with friends and the world, hence introducing social gaming. Further, the designed interface of the PS4 was simple and user-friendly, and one can easily switch between games, applications, or the world wide web.
System Requirements for PS4 Emulator (Orbital/PCSX4):

-
Storage: 50 GB for emulator and game installation
-

Currently, there are basically no games that can be fully emulated from the PlayStation 4 console, but there are ongoing efforts in developing emulators such as Orbital as well as PCSX4 to run PS4 games on computers. Though the games are not fully compatible, as of now, improvements are in the process, and few are the games starting to operate on these emulators. Due to the great need for powerful hardware and constant updates, Ps4 emulation will probably progress in the following years.

The PlayStation 4 also came with PlayStation Plus service and included features with free monthly games, cloud storage, and online multiplayer. In its time, the PS4 received such masterpieces as The Last of Us Part II, God of War, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, and more, all of which are near-peak console performances.
In the launch of the PS5, the PlayStation 4 crossed over 116 million units, which helped it earn a spot as one of the best gaming consoles out there. The emphasis on players’ advantages, great performance, and incredible collection of console’s exclusives became the reasons to establish the symbol of modern games industry. However, the PS4 as a shining gem that symbolized the seventh generation is still adored, while the next generation begins with the PS5.
