Final Fantasy ROM was a revolutionary role-playing game RPG that was first released in 1987 and still remains one of the best as part of the series. The story begins with four young heroes known as the Warriors of Light, each carrying a darkened crystal that corresponds to one of the four elemental forces: The four elements of nature are, namely, the earth, fire, water, and wind. The world is basically post-apocalyptic, with people suffering from natural calamities and attacks from the so-called ‘pterave’ monsters.

The Warriors of the Light embark themselves on a journey to bring the light back to the crystals that they carry and thus save the world from the evil powers at work. These are experiences that take them over continents, through dangerous caves, and into menacing dungeons in their attempts to vanquish the four elemental evil powerful sorcerers and the ultimate bad guy, ‘Chaos’, a representation of destructive time.
